Introducing the Crystal Coast

“The Crystal Coast” is the collective nickname describing neighboring Atlantic Coast communities along North Carolina’s Southern Outer Banks. Many of these communities leave their own imprint on the minds of return visitors, who may come to think of the whole area as Atlantic Beach, Emerald Isle, Beaufort, Morehead City, Down East, or just “the beach.”

It isn’t really important what name comes to your mind - now or later. What matters to us is that you have a vacation you’ll remember fondly because of the people you’ll meet...the activities available (or the opportunity to kick back and do nothing)...the superb restaurants...the fantastic shopping. Don’t worry if you can’t accomplish all you want to on this vacation; you’re welcome to return any time. The Crystal Coast is a year round vacation destination. The beaches and our many on-the-water activities may be the big draw in the summer, but come see for yourself what wonderful fall and spring times we customarily enjoy. Golfers and fishermen already seem to know what we’d love for you to discover: even the winter months can be a joy here...with holiday celebrations, the Crystal Coast Jubilee Christmas Show, Core Sound Waterfowl weekend, and so much more.

Come as a family, as a couple, or by yourself. One of the advantages of being a multi-community vacation area is that we can meet almost everyone’s idea of the perfect vacation. Explore Beaufort’s history...the “Original” Down East...the “family” atmosphere of Emerald Isle...the maritime traditions of Morehead City...the many facets of Atlantic Beach...the unique place called Swansboro...the ubiquitous water, ocean, sound, estuary, river, marsh and more.
